Three ways to better value your time.

No one can escape the passing of time. We are all subjected to ageing and mortality. It plays a significant role in our life. Time is the most valuable resource because you cannot take it back. As they say, Time lost will never come back.
If you understand the value of time better, you can use the time to gain experience and develop skills. Time used mindfully can help you grow and evolve, and also help you progress on your journey in life. Time also needs to be planned in order for it not to get wasted.
I first came across the value of time when “A series of incidents, reflections, and learnings drove me to past life regression therapy. When I experienced my past lives, I realised the value of my current life. My past life gave me the perception, awareness, and learning that I had wasted a lifetime seeking for love from another and it was now time to find the true meaning of love and my purpose in this life.
When I realised how I had wasted my time by only seeking love from another to make me feel complete, I awakened to the fact of how valuable my time here on this earth is. After this, there was no looking back, I wanted to be the best version of myself for me.
When I was a child, my father often said if you don’t value time, time will not value you. I don’t think I understood this saying at that time. And today, I can’t lay enough emphasis on how important this lesson is.
The importance of valuing time is the ability to choose how to spend your time wisely. It will also help you to prioritise your time.
If you feel you don’t have time, which most of us do, then it’s clear that you are not valuing time. If your day seems driven by others and situations around you. If you feel you are unable to achieve the results you desire in a particular day then you must understand what is valuing time.
You also need to understand that if you are not progressing in the direction of your purpose then you are not valuing time and your life here on this earth.
To be the best version of yourself and achieve a life of optimum performance and fulfilment in all areas of life I had to value time.
I will state 3 ways to value time, that helped me become who I was meant to be
1. I spent 60 mins a day in silence
It’s only when we know ourselves that we can understand what is important to us, what we like, and who we truly are. So, this is actually step no 1.
2. I started drawing boundaries
I learnt to say no to things that didn’t help me progress in my journey. This is very challenging at the start but extremely important. What I would do is ask myself a few questions before saying yes to anything. How can it help me become a better person? How will it help me evolve? Or will this activity make me feel really happy?
I started blocking chunks of my time growing myself. Anything besides this I would say no to.
3. Identifying values
This is paramount to do as soon as you can, and there are many exercises to help you discover your values because everyone is only true to their values in the end. You can hear more on this from Dr John DeMartini, his work focuses on explaining how values are the compass of any human and the importance of it in our lives.
When you value time, time starts valuing you back, you tend to create the time to grow yourself towards a better version of yourself. Time works in your favour and you start feeling in love with yourself. You are here for a reason and to be able to discover it, you need to start valuing yourself by valuing your time.
